Yerp, you did read it right. The first chainsaw ever powered by universal serial bus or USB, the same USB where you plug in all your mp3 players, portable hard disk, ipods, digital cameras and whatnots.
The first time I heard about this, I was like, who in the hell came up with the idea? Is it really possible to use USB to power up a chain saw? Even sometimes my portable hard drive can’t get enough power from the USB port to spin the disk.
Anyway, let’s take a look at the specs of iSaw:
Size : 15.2 x 5.8 x 5.1 inches (385 x 147 x 130mm)
Weight : Approximate weight 8.2 lbs (3.7 kg)
Operating Environment : Home and office use (Standard precautions apply)Saw Chain : 3/8″
Guide Bear Length : 10 inches (254mm)Comes with rubber grip handles, safety activation button, protective guard and of course, USB port!
In case you’re wondering to get the iSaw for your Christmas present, apparently you’re too late because the pre order of the iSaw is already closed. But yeah, you can always check the iSaw official website from time to time in case they wanted to open the order to the public again.
Last but not least, iSaw is USB 2.0 compatible and USB cables are included. Have fun playing Evil Dead with iSaw!
